Watching the autumn unfold in Spearfish, South Dakota
About
Welcome to Spearfish Canyon Reports! I am your leaf reporter, Kimberly Talcott. I have been tracking the leaves in Spearfish Canyon officially since 2020. I feel most at peace in nature and I enjoy witnessing the slow and steady leaf transformation each fall in my town of Spearfish, South Dakota.
Growing up in Omaha, Nebraska, I always considered South Dakota my second home. I credit my family with inspiring my love of nature - fishing and camping with my dad, exploring creeks with my mom, and catching frogs and grasshoppers with my brother. Check out the throw-back photos below!
I work part-time as a freelance writer/editor and full-time as a wife and mother.
